Nicole Garcia carded a two-under-par 71 on Friday in the second round of the Ladies European Tour’s Aramco Team Series LDN at the Centurion Club in Hertfordshire, England to move to five-under for the tournament and a share of fifth place ahead of the final round.
Garcia made an eagle, three birdies and three bogeys, and will head into the final 18 holes five shots off the lead which was held by Hayley Davis of England at nine-under after her five-under 68. Davis led by two from countrywoman Bronte Law, who, like Garcia, had a 71.
Stacy Lee Bregman made her second successive one-over 74 to be two-over for the tournament in a share of 33rd and Casandra Alexander pulled things back with a one-under 72 putting her in a share of 53rd on five-over. Lejan Lewthwaite missed the cut.
Garcia also managed to get into a share of the lead in the team contest in Team Garcia, topping the leaderboard with Team Wikstrom on 27-under. The quartet of Garcia, Kelly Whaley, Madelene Stavnar and amateur Mia Baker made the turn in nine-under and a birdie from Baker on the last ensured the team finished level with Team Wikstrom.They will play off at the conclusion of the final round.
