Nicole Garcia made six birdies on Friday in the second round of the Ladies European Tour’s Aramco Team Series presented by PIF at the Riyadh Golf Club in Saudi Arabia on her way to a five-under-par 67.
Her big move, added to her first-round 71, took her in to a share of 12th place on six-under-par. That put her eight shots off the lead, held at 14-under-par by Pia Babnik of Slovenia, who had a second-successive 65 to lead by two from England’s Charley Hull.
Garcia made two birdies on the front nine, on the third and fifth, before dropping her only shot of the day on the par-four seventh. She came home in four-under 32 with birdies on 10, 13, 14 and 17. She two-putted just three times on that back nine.
Casandra Alexander followed her first round of three-under 69, during which she made a hole-in-one, with a one-over-par 73. She was in a share of 37th on two-under-par.
Lee-Anne Pace missed the cut by one shot after a second round of four-over 76 left her on one-over for the tournament.
