Deon Germishuys made five birdies and three bogeys in his final round on Sunday to finish in a share of 11th in the Challenge Tour’s Kaskada Challenge in the Czech Republic.
Germishuys carded a two-under-par 69 in his final round after a superb seven-under 64 in the third round, and he climbed two places on the final leaderboard, his 10-under-par total leaving him 10 shots behind the runaway winner, Martin Simonsen of Denmark. Simonsen closed with a four-under 67 to win by four from Marco Penge of England.
Germishuys got off to a difficult start in the final round, with two consecutive bogeys on the opening two holes. He picked up three birdies on the remainder of the front nine, to turn in one-under, and he got things going nicely on the homeward nine with birdies on 15 and 17. Unfortunately, he dropped another shot with a bogey on the final hole.
It was a good finish for the big South African, lifting him three places to 18th on the Road to Mallorca rankings on the Challenge Tour.
Jayden Schaper closed with a three-over 74 to slip to a share of 36th on three-under for the tournament, and Bryce Easton had a two-over 73 to finish on one-under in a share of 41st.
Jacques Blaauw, Haydn Porteous and Tristen Strydom all missed the cut.
