Deon Germishuys held on to make the cut on Friday with a level-par 72 in the second round of the DP World Tour’s Korea Championship at the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea in Incheon, South Korea.
Germishuys made three birdies, a bogey and a double-bogey as he stayed at three-under-par for the tournament in a share of 24th place. He was one of just two South Africans to make the cut out of seven who started. The other was Justin Walters, who was in a share of 32nd on two-under after he signed for a third-round three-under 69.
Germishuys was five strokes off the lead which was shared by Yannik Paul of Germany and Korean Sanghyun Park on eight-under after they had rounds of 68 and 69 respectively. Paul and Park had a one-stroke edge over first-round leader Antoine Rozner of France and his countryman Mike Lorenzo-Vera.
The South Africans who missed the cut were Shaun Norris, Zander Lombard, Louis de Jager, Jacques Kruyswijk and Bryce Easton.
