Deon Germishuys closed with an eagle on Saturday in the third round of the Challenge Tour’s Big Green Egg German Challenge to set himself up for a shot at finishing inside the top 10 in the final round.
Although his round was sprinkled with five irritating birdies, Germishuys made four birdies as well, before rounding out his day’s work with an eagle-three on the closing par-five 18th for a one-under 71. It showed he is able to go low, and it saw him to a share of 16th at five-under for the tournament.
The tournament is led at 14-under by Spaniard Alejandro Del Rey, who also closed with an eagle on 18 for his four-under 68. He led by countryman Manuel Elvira and Poland’s Mateusz Gradecki, each of who signed for a three-under 69.
