Germishuys starts strongly in ISPS Handa-Championship at 6-under

Deon Germishuys carded a six-under-par 64 on Thursday in the first round of the DP World Tour’s ISPS Handa-Championship at PGM Ishioka Golf Club in Omitama, Japan to be in a share of third place after 18 holes.

Germishuys made an eagle, six birdies and two bogeys and was just one shot off the lead which was shared by England’s Andy Sullivan and Yeongsu Kim of South Korea. Germishuys shared third with Alexander Bjork of Sweden and Aaron Cockerill of Canada.

South Africa’s Jacques Kruyswijk was one shot further back after his opening round of five-under-par 65 put him in a share of sixth.

Jbe’ Kruger signed for an opening round of three-under 67 and was in a share of 31st, while Ernie Els was on level-par in a share of 82nd together with Christiaan Bezuidenhout. Louis de Jager was on one-over, Zander Lombard on two-over, Shaun Norris and Justin Walters on three-over and Bryce Easton on four-over.
