Retief Goosen closed with a five-under-par 67 on Sunday to move to nine-under-par for the tournament and a share of fourth place in the PGA Tour Champions Constellation Furyk & Friends at Timuquana Country Club in Jacksonville, Florida.

Goosen made six birdies and a bogey as he climbed 20 places on the leaderboard to finish three strokes out of a sudden-death play-off between Rocco Mediate and Bob Estes, both of the United States.

It took two play-off holes to separate the pair, with Mediate winning with a par on the second time they replayed the 18th hole.

The pair was two strokes clear of Greg Chalmers of Australia in third place, and Goosen shared fourth with five other players, including Darren Clarke of Northern Ireland.

The finish saw Goosen climb one place into 18th on the season-long Charles Schwab Cup rankings.

Ernie Els closed with an even-par 72 in a quiet week which saw him share 34th on four-under-par. He retained his place at the top of the Charles Schwab Cup standings.
