Grace cards 66 in 2nd round of Boston LIV Golf event

Branden Grace made six birdies and two bogeys on Saturday in the second round of the LIV Golf Invitational event in Boston on his way to a four-under-par 66 and a share of eighth ahead of the final round of the 54-hole event.

Grace moved to seven-under for the tournament after his opening 67, and was five shots behind the leader, Talor Gooch of the United States. Gooch had a five-under 65 in his second round, and led by one from first-round leader Joaquin Niemann of Chile who was on 11-under. Dustin Johnson was on 10-under, and India’s Anirban Lahiri was fourth on nine-under.

Grace shared eighth with compatriot Louis Oosthuizen, who had a round of three-under 67 to move to seven-under. Charl Schwartzel carded a one-under 69 to move to three-under for the tournament in a share of 24th. Shaun Norris carded his second successive level-par 70 and was in a share of 32nd. Zimbabwe’s Scott Vincent had a four-under 66 and was in a share of 19th on four-under.

In the team contest, the all-South African Stinger GC was in a share of sixth on 14-under after the second round. The leaders were Four Aces GC on 22-under, with Gooch, Dustin Johnson, Pat Perez and Patrick Reed.
