Higgo 4 back on packed RBC Canadian Open leaderboard

It was a packed leaderboard after the first round on Thursday of the PGA Tour’s RBC Canadian Open at Oakdale Golf and Country Club in Toronto, Ontario, and Garrick Higgo opened with a one-under-par 71.

He made four birdies and three bogeys to be just four shots off the lead in a share of 36th. Four players shared the first-round lead on five-under-par: Aaron Rai, Justin Lower, Corey Conners and Chesson Hadley had a one-stroke edge over nine players on four-under, and there were 15 players on three-under. Ahead of Higgo, there were seven players on two-under. Amongst 33 players on one-under, together with Higgo, was Rory McIlroy.

Erik van Rooyen opened with a four-over-par 76 for a share of 134th.
