Garrick Higgo had his best individual showing on the PGA Tour since March on Sunday when he carded a closing two-under-par 70 to finish in a share of 26th in the Procore Championship on the North Course at Silverado Resort in Napa, California.

Higgo, who has missed 11 cuts on the tour this year in a poor season that has also been hampered by injury, made five birdies, a bogey and a double-bogey as he climbed six places to finish on eight-under-par for the tournament. That put him 12 strokes behind the winner, Patton Kizzire of the United States, who beat countryman David Lipsky by five shots.

Higgo’s previous-best showing this season was a share of 16th in the Cognizant Classic in March, although he did finish in a share of fourth in the team event, the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

His performance in the Procore Championship sees him climb four places to 144th on the FedExCup rankings as he plays the final events of the year seeking to retain his PGA Tour card.
