Garrick Higgo’s one-under-par 71 on Friday saw him slip 14 places down the leaderboard to a share of 23rd after the second round of the PGA Tour’s Puerto Rico Open at Grand Reserve Golf Club in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.
With second-round play suspended as players scramble to try and catch up time lost to weather delays, Higgo completed his round and moved to seven-under for the tournament. That put him sux strokes off the lead which was held by Joe Highsmith of the United States, who was six-under through 15 holes to be at 13-under. Six players, all with completed second rounds to their names, were in a share of second on 12-under-par.
Higgo made five birdies and four bogeys in his second round, in a fairly stark contrast to his first round during which he dropped only one shot.
MJ Daffue had a second round of level-par 72 to be one-under for the tournament and well below the projected cut which looked set to fall at four-under-par.
