Garrick Higgo found himself metaphorically running on the spot on Saturday as his level-par 71 saw him slide 14 places down the leaderboard of the PGA Tour’s John Deere Classic at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois.
Higgo made two birdies and two bogeys to finish the third round in a share of 16th place on 11-under-par. Having pointed out after his second round that there is still a low one out there, he will be hoping to find it for the final round as he attempts to chase down the leader.
Out front on 16-under-par was Brendon Todd of the United States, who had a 65 to take him one shot clear of countrymen Alex Smalley, Denny McCarthy and Adam Schenk.
MJ Daffue had his third consecutive three-under-par 68 of a consistent week so far to move into a share of 32nd on nine-under-par.
