Horne starts fast in Asian Tour’s Mandiri Indonesia Open

Veteran Keith Horne opened his campaign in the Asian Tour’s Mandiri Indonesia Open in Jakarta with a bogey-free six-under-par 66 on Thursday to be in a share of fifth place.

Horne made four birdies on the front nine and two on the way home to be two shots off the lead which was held jointly by Thailand’s Itthipat Buranatanyarat and Hong Kong amateur Taichi Kho, who also both had bogey-free rounds. They led by one from two more Thai players, Prayad Marksaeng and Chapchai Nirat.

Another veteran of the Sunshine Tour, Adilson Da Silva of Brazil, also had a good start with his four-under 68 giving him a share of 14th.

Jbe’ Kruger and Ian Snyman posted three-under 69 each to be in a share of 23rd, with Mathiam Keyser signing for a two-under 70 in a share of 39th. Benjamin Follett-Smith of Zimbabwe carded a level-par 72, together with Neil Schietekat, while Jaco Ahlers had a two-over 74.
