He was seven-under through the first seven holes on Sunday, and Keith Horne took advantage of that start to take the lead after the third round of the Legends Tour’s Qualifying School-Final Stage at Gloria Golf Resort in Belek, Turkey.

Horne took his tally to nine-under through 54 holes, and he held a one-stroke lead going into the final round over Carlos Balmaseda of Spain and Simon Griffiths of England. There are just five cards up for grabs.

Horne, a nine-time winner on the Sunshine Tour, made birdies on the first two holes, and another on the fourth. Then he picked up an eagle on the fifth, following it up with birdies on the sixth and seventh. A bogey on nine saw him turn in six-under-par 31. He made two birdies and two bogeys on the homeward nine for a six-under 66. That was the best round of the day.

At level-par and in a share of 19th after a one-under 71 was Doug McGuigan, who is going to need a low one in the final round if he is to lock up is playing privileges on the tour for the rest of this year.

Callie Swart and amateur Henk Geldenhuys missed the cut to play in the final round.
