Casey Jarvis climbed 35 places on the latest list issued by the Official World Golf Ranking to reach 299th after his share of sixth over the weekend in the DP World Tour’s Genesis Championship in South Korea.
His performance – his best on the DP World Tour since his share of eighth in the Omega European Masters – puts him into 10th place amongst South Africans on the official rankings list, and takes him closer to his career-high ranking of 237th. He leapfrogged Jaden Schaper and Garrick Higgo, and is now just one place behind Shaun Norris.
In an otherwise quiet week for South Africans, Brandon Stone also benefited from a good performance in South Korea, climbing 17 places to 265th after his share of ninth.
For the rest of the South Africans inside the top 25 according to the rankings, it was a week of slipping down the list.
The top-ranked South African remains Thriston Lawrence, down in 50th place. He will be trying to improve his ranking position ahead of the year to stay inside the top 50 and earn himself an invitation to the 2025 Masters. He is already PGA Tour-bound, and some good performances there early in the new year could be very helpful in that quest.
