Casey Jarvis got himself inside the top 10 on Saturday after a second round of four-under-par 68 in the Challenge Tour’s Hainan Open at Danzhou Ancient Saltern Golf Club in Hainan Island, China.
It was a much less dramatic journey around the course for Jarvis after his opening round. This time, he made five birdies and just one bogey, in stark contrast to his eagle, six birdies and five bogeys in his first round.
He moved to seven-under for the tournament at the halfway mark, and that was four shots off the lead which was held by China’s Chuan-lin Jian at 11-under after his second round of two-under-par 70. Jian led by one from Joel Girbach of Switzerland.
Behind Jarvis, Brandon Stone had a one-under-par 71 in the second round, moving him to four-under for the tournament and a share of 27th.
Zimbabwe’s Benjamin Follett-Smith’s one-under 71 was not enough for him to make the cut as he moved to one-over, which missed the weekend by two.
