It took a seven-under third round to knock him from the top of the leaderboard on Saturday, but Casey Jarvis has his target firmly in his sights if he is to go out and grab his first professional title in the Challenge Tour’s D+D Real Czech Challenge at Panorama Golf Resort in Kácov, Czech Republic.
Jarvis carded a one-under-par 71 for his third round, moving to 12-under-par for the tournament and three shots behind the leader Andrea Pavan of Italy, who raced into the lead with a bogey-free 65.
Jarvis, who knows how to go low as was shown by his 59 on the Sunshine Tour at Dainfern in April, will need to make sure he works at keeping bogeys to a minimum in the final round after making three of them in his third round. That was after making one in his first and two in his second. He had four birdies in that third round.
He played with Pavan and will do so again in the final round, and that will give the 19-year-old South African rookie a chance to play the kind of aggressive golf he enjoys in a chase that could be a thriller.
In what has been a good tournament for South Africans so far, Jaco Prinsloo is also in contention after a third-round 68 lifted him to fourth place on 10-under, just five shots off the lead. Further back, Luke Jerling held station with a level-par 72 keeping him at five-under in a share of 13th, and Albert Venter had a two-under 72 to move to four-under for the tournament in a share of 17th.
After a poor start to his final round, Dylan Mostert retired.
