Jbe’ Kruger closed with a superb nine-under-par 63 on Sunday to finish in a share of sixth on Japan Golf Tour in the ASO IIZUKA Challenged Golf Tournament in Fukuoka.
It was a bogey-free effort from Kruger, with four birdies on the front nine and five on the homeward nine, taking him to 20-under-par for the tournament. That left him three strokes adrift of the winner, Tomoyo Ikemura, who closed with a 68. Ikemura won by one from Ryo Hisatsune who had and 11-under 61 in the final round, and Australia’s Brad Kennedy, who signed for a 65.
In a week when money seems important to mention, Kruger won just short of R400,000 for his efforts, and that lifted him to 30th on the Japan Golf Tour’s money list.
