Jbe’ Kruger made an eagle, five birdies and a bogey on Friday as he climbed into a share of 12th position after the second round of the Asian Tour’s and Japan Golf Tour’s Shinhan Donghae Open in Incheon, South Korea.

He opened up with a birdie on the first and followed it with an eagle-two on the next hole. He picked up four more birdies up to the 14th hole, but dropped a shot on the 15th to be just outside the top 10 heading into the weekend.

At seven-under through 36 holes, he was six strokes behind the leader, who was Korean amateur Wooyoung Cho. Cho had a bogey-free eight-under in his second round to move to 13-under and a three-stroke lead over countryman Bio Kim and Canadian Richard T Lee. There were five players in a share of fourth on nine-under, and three players in a share of ninth one stroke ahead of Kruger on eight-under.

Shaun Norris carded his second-successive three-under-par 69 to move to six-under at the halfway mark in a share of 23rd. Ian Snyman had a two-under 70 and was on three-under in a share of 63rd as he made the cut on the number.
