Jacques Kruyswijk opened with a two-under-par 69 on Thursday in the first round of the DP World Tour’s Genesis Championship at Woo Jeong Hills Country Club in Cheonan, South Korea.
Kruyswijk made four birdies and a bogey on the front nine, and a single bogey without picking up any strokes on the back nine. That put him in a share of 21st, four shots off the first-round lead.
Up front, China’s Haotong Li went bogey-free for his six-under-par 65 to share the top of the leaderboard with local player MK Kim, and they led by one from Spain’s Alejandro del Rey. There were seven players on four-under in a share of fourth, and 10 players on three-under in a share of 11th.
Also on two-under after the first round was Richard Sterne, along with Kruyswijk and 15 other players.
Dylan Frittelli opened with a level-par 71 to be in a share of 59th, while Thriston Lawrence had a one-over 72 and was in a share of 69th. Casey Jarvis was on two-over 73 and Robin Williams had an opening four-over 75. Shaun Norris was on five-over, while Zander Lombard battled to an eight-over 79.
