Christo Lamprecht is too far off the pace to challenge for the win in the Korn Ferry Tour’s NV5 Invitational at the Glen Club in Glenview, Illinois, but his bogey-free 65 on Saturday has him trending in the right direction.

Lamprecht opened with a one-under 70 in the first round, but his second successive 65 in the third round boosted him into a share of 40th on 13-under-par through 54 holes. Unfortunately, he finds himself 11 strokes off the lead in a low-scoring tournament.

Up front, American Johnny Keefer signed for a 10-under-par 61 in the third round to move to 24-under-par and a four-stroke lead over countryman Caleb VanArragon.

Lamprecht made an eagle and four birdies in his third round, and another good round could see him climb from his current 27th place on the Korn Ferry Tour points list closer to the top 20. That’s what he needs to achieve to earn his PGA Tour card.

Ahead of him on the tournament leaderboard was MJ Daffue, who slipped 17 places on the leaderboard to a share of 25th, despite a three-under-par 68 in the third round.

Barend Botha was in a share of 73rd after a one-under 70 saw him move to eight-under for the tournament.
