Christo Lamprecht picked up two birdies on the back nine of the Seaside Course at Sea Island Golf Club on Friday on his way to a two-under-par 68 in the second round of the PGA Tour’s RSM Classic in St Simon’s Island, Georgia.
After he made two birdies and two bogeys on the front nine, he didn’t drop a shot on the way home, and, together with his opening level-par 72 on the Plantation Course, he heads into the weekend in a share of 37th – a climb of 43 places on the leaderboard.
The tournament is being led by American Patrick Fishburn, who had an eight-under 64 on the Plantation Course to move to 11-under through 36 holes. That put him one stroke clear of fellow countrymen Maverick McNealy and Lee Hodges.
Garrick Higgo carded a one-over 71 at the Seaside Course to slip to a share of 49th on one-under, while MJ Daffue missed the cut.
