Christo Lamprecht closed with a two-under-par 69 on Sunday to climb eight places into a share of 18th in the Korn Ferry Tour’s Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship at Ohio State University Golf Club in Columbus, Ohio.
Lamprecht started his round on the 10th hole, and made a bogey on the 14th. But he was blemish-free after that with a birdie on the 15th, and three in a row after he turned from the fourth to the sixth. Unfortunately, he dropped a shot on the par-three eighth, as he finished the tournament on six-under-par.
There was an 11-stroke gap between him and the winner, John VanDerLaan of the United States, who moved to 17-under-par for the tournament with his closing four-under 67. He had a three-stroke edge over Zecheng Dou of China and American Trent Phillips, who shared second on 14-under.
Both MJ Daffue and Barend Botha also made the cut, but closing rounds of one-under 70 and two-over 73 respectively saw them slip down the leaderboard into a share of 53rd and a share of 64th.
Lamprecht’s showing sees him edge closer to gaining eligibility to the PGA Tour as he climbed one place to 11th on the Korn Ferry Tour points list. At the end of the 2025 season, the top 20 players will earn PGA Tour membership for the following season.
