Christo Lamprecht will join two other former members of the GolfRSA National Squad on the PGA Tour next year after he wrapped up his playing privileges for the 2026 season on the premier United States circuit.

Lamprecht became mathematically assured of a top 20 finish on the 2025 Korn Ferry Tour Points List following last week’s Compliance Solutions Championship. Upon conclusion of this week’s season-ending Korn Ferry Tour Championship presented by United Leasing and Finance, contested at French Lick Golf Resort in French Lick, Indiana, the top 20 players on the Korn Ferry Points List will earn PGA Tour membership for the 2026 season.

Lamprecht will join former National Squad members Garrick Higgo and Aldrich Potgieter on the PGA Tour. Both of them are already winners on the tour, and he will boost South Africa’s stocks in an environment that is notoriously difficult to thrive in for foreign players. Higgo started out the year on the Korn Ferry Tour, but a victory in the Corales Puntacana Championship in the Dominican Republic in April secured him his status back on the main tour.

Also on the tour are regulars Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Erik van Rooyen, while Thriston Lawrence also played on the tour during the 2025 season.

In what is his first full season on the Korn Ferry Tour, Lamprecht stands number 11 on the 2025 Korn Ferry Tour Points List off the strength of his victory at the Pinnacle Bank Championship presented by Woodhouse, along with a share of second at the Astara Golf Championship presented by Mastercard.

Lamprecht finished second in the 2024 PGA Tour University Ranking after four seasons at Georgia Tech, where he won the 2024 Byron Nelson Award and was named the 2024 Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year. During his time at Georgia Tech, Lamprecht rose to number one in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, won the 128th Amateur Championship in June 2023, and earned low amateur honours at the 2023 Open Championship.

Other amateur and junior highlights for Lamprecht included a win at the 2017 South African Amateur Championship, representing the International Team at the 2017 and 2019 Junior Presidents Cup, and helping South Africa win the 2019 Toyota Junior World Cup in Japan.

Lamprecht was also part of 2010 Open champion Louis Oosthuzien’s Louis 57 Academy, now renamed the Stinger Academy.

At the 2023 Dunhill Links Championship, Lamprecht smashed a 418-yard drive to shock the golfing world. He frequently clocked ball speeds of 200 mile per hour during that Dunhill Links. He also exploded out of the gates at the 2024 Masters. His first two tee shots were 353 yards and 366 yards. He averaged 323 yards driving at the 2023 Open Championship, ranking second in the field.

His length off the tee will make him an exciting addition to the PGA Tour.
