Lamprecht misses cut in 1st tournament as a pro on Korn Ferry Tour

The joint low round of the day on Friday was not enough to save Christo Lamprecht from missing the cut in his first tournament as a professional when his one-over-par 36-hole total was not enough to get him into the weekend of the Korn Ferry Tour’s Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Wichita Open in Wichita, Kansas.

In stark contrast to his opening round which had three double-bogeys, four bogeys and two birdies in an eight-over 78, Lamprecht was bogey-free with seven birdies in his 63.

Also missing the cut were fellow-South Africans MJ Daffue and Dawie van der Walt.

Lamprecht, who had a spot in the concurrent US Open had he remained amateur for just a couple of weeks longer, took the step to turn pro despite that spot and in the knowledge that he would have to try and play his way on to the PGA Tour via the Korn Ferry Tour with just 12 tournaments in that season remaining ahead of the Korn Ferry Tour Championship in October.
