Lamprecht opens Astara Chile Classic with 3-under 68 for share of 19th

Christo Lamprecht got off to a solid start on Thursday with a three-under-par 68 for a share of 19th after the first round of the Korn Ferry Tour’s Astara Chile Classic presented by Scotiabank at Prince of Wales Country Club in Santiago, Chile.

Starting his round on the 10th with a birdie, he made two more birdies and two bogeys ahead of the turn, and then he picked up another three birdies on the front nine on his way home, dropping one more shot.

Up front, Argentina’s Julian Etulain shared the lead with American Spencer Ralston on wight-under-par 63. They were two strokes clear of Japan’s Kensei Hirata, with two more Americans, Kevin Dougherty and Caleb VanArragon on six-under-par in a share of third place.

Six players were in a share of sixth on five-under, and eight players shared 12th on four-under-par. Lamprecht shared 19th with 19 other players.

Barend Bothat was one stroke further back on two-under in a share of 39th, while MJ Daffue struggled to a share of 99th on one-over-par.
