Although he carded a two-under-par 69 on Friday, Christo Lamprecht found himself six strokes off the lead after the second round of the Korn Ferry Tour’s Astara Chile Classic presented by Scotiabank at Prince of Wales Country Club in Santiago, Chile.

He actually climbed one spot on the leaderboard into a share of 18th, after he made one bogey on each of the nines. He made three birdies on the front nine and one on the back to go with his opening three-under-par 68.

The lead was shared by Cole Hammer and Davis Chatfield of the United States on 11-under-par. Hammer made 10 birdies and one bogey en route to a nine-under 62, marking the low round of the day and tying his career-low round on the Korn Ferry Tour. Chatfield made six birdies, an eagle at the par-four first, and one bogey for a seven-under 64, marking his second round of 64 or lower this season.

MJ Daffue had a three-under 68 in the second round to move to two-under for the tournament and a share of 55th.

Barend Botha slipped to a one-over 72 and missed the cut by one stroke when he completed 36 holes on one-under-par.
