Although he opened with a two-under-par 70 on Thursday, Christo Lamprecht found himself seven strokes off the lead after the first round of the Korn Ferry Tour’s Compliance Solutions Championship at the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club in Norman, Oklahoma.

Lamprecht is into his second professional tournament since turning pro before the US Open, and he missed the cut in last week’s Korn Ferry Tour event. The lead was held by American Thomas Walsh. He was one clear of six players. One of those six was former Dimension Data Pro-Am champion Tano Goya of Argentina.

Lamprecht was in a share of 78th with compatriot Aldrich Potgieter, and with the early projection of the cut being three-under, he was in danger of missing a second successive weekend.

Dawie van der Walt was on one-under after the first round as was MJ Daffue.
