Paula Reto slipped to a closing level-par 71 with a triple-bogey on the 15th on Sunday as she ended up in a share of 19th in the LPGA Tour’s Dana Open in Sylvania, Ohio.
Reto had made three birdies up until that point, and, at 10-under-par for the tournament, was eyeing up the possibility of a top-10 finish based on her opening rounds of five-under 66 and two-under 69. Her weekend showing of level-par on Saturday and her closing 71 left her further down the leaderboard than that start deserved.
Thailand’s Chanettee Wannasaen claimed her second LPGA Tour victory in as many years on Tour, winning by one stroke over Haeran Ryu of Korea. Shooting her fourth round in the 60s with a final day 67, this second victory came just two weeks before Wannasean is set to defend her title at the Portland Classic and one week after the Thai golfer posted her best major championship result at the Amundi Evian Championship.
Feeling confident at the top of her game, Wannasaen showcased her best golf at Highland Meadows Golf Club, setting new career-low 36- and 54-hole scores, and ultimately finished 20-under par with a score of 264.
