Lawrence’s 68 sets up chance for win at St Francis Links

With three players on the leaderboard ahead of him yet to complete their third rounds on Saturday, Thriston Lawrence nevertheless put himself in position to push for the title in the SDC Championship at St Francis Links.

The reigning South African Open champion carded a four-under-par 68 before play was suspended due to darkness, and he moved to eight-under-par in sixth place.

Ahead of him on eleven-under-par were Matthew Baldwin of England and Kristian Krogh Johannessen of Denmark. They had both played 13 holes and would have to complete their rounds on Sunday. Joost Luiten of the Netherlands and England’s Daniel Brown had completed their rounds and were on nine-under. Jens Dantorp was also on nine-under, and had completed 14 holes.

Five South Africans were on six-under: Trevor Fisher Jnr, Jaco Ahlers, Shaun Norris, Brandon Stone and Albert Venter.
