Paula Reto made four birdies and four bogeys on Thursday to sign for a level-par 71 in the opening round of the LPGA Tour’s Dio Implant LA Open at Palos Verdes Golf Club in Palos Verdes Estates, California.
That put her in a share of 30th place, six strokes behind the leader My Hyang Lee of Korea, who went bogey-free for her opening 65. She as one clear of compatriot Hyo Joo Kim and American Megan Khang.
World number one Lydia Ko of New Zealand opened with a two-over-par 73, and Investec South African Women’s Open champion Ashleigh Buhai carded a disappointing eight-over-par 79 for a share of 139th in the 144-player field.
