Herman Loubser carded his second bogey-free round of the tournament on Tuesday as he signed for a four-under-par 68 to keep his one-shot lead after the second round of the Big Easy IGT Challenge Tour’s Race to Q-School #7 at Blue Valley Golf and Country Estate.

While he is still in front, he has some players who all went lower than he did ahead of the final round tomorrow: He leads by one from Martin Vorster, who carded a seven-under 65, Korean DK Kim who had a 67, and amateur Calvin Maia, who came home with a six-under-par 66.

Loubser once again had equal nines, going two-under on each of them, but Vorster, the former South African amateur number one who recently turned pro, had a five-under 31 on the front nine, and, despite dropping a shot on the par-four 14th, had a two-under 34 coming home to reach 11-under.

Kim had an eagle, five birdies and two bogeys in his 67, while Maia, who, like Vorster, has won on the IGT circuit once this year already, was bogey-free with an eagle and four birdies.

There were two other seven-under scores during the second round: Amateur Willie Olivier matched Vorster to move to 10-under for the tournament to take up fifth place, while Gerhard Pepler also shot 65 to go to nine-under and a share of sixth with amateur LB Boshoff.

Loubser will have his eyes firmly focused on the chasing pack in the final round.
