Tumelo Molloyi won his maiden Bushveld Tour title on Wednesday when he carded a closing two-over-par 74 to take the Bushveld Series #7 at Jackal Creek Golf Estate by three strokes.

Molloyi is a Jackal Creek ambassador, and his familiarity around the course helped him keep a level head as he made an eagle, five birdies, seven bogeys and a double-bogey to finish the 54-hole event on five-under-par.

Second, on two-under, was Jaden Deltel, who chased hard with his closing three-under 69 with four birdies and a bogey. With Molloyi having a five-stroke lead heading into the final round, it was always going to take a special round to catch the leader.

Amateurs Ryan van der Klis and Dillon Germshuys shared third on one-over-par, while Francois van der Walt and Jason Froneman were in a share of fifth on two-over-par.

Molloyi’s performance saw him surge to 10th on the Order of Merit.
