Pieter Moolman clung on to his eight-under-par total on Friday with a level-par 72 in the second round of the DP World Tour’s D+D REAL Czech Masters at PGA National OAKS Prague in Prague.
However, his four birdies and four bogeys saw him slip from the lead after the first round to a share of 17th after the second, five strokes off the lead. Up front was France’s Davod Ravetto, who had an eagle and seven birdies in his nine-under 63. At 13-under, he led by one from Ritchie Ramsay of Scotland, Jesper Svensson of Sweden, and England’s Andrew Johnson.
Moolman started his round on the 10th and was soon in trouble with a bogey on the 12th. He birdied the 13th, but dropped again on the 14th. It was birdie on 16 and bogey on 17 for the South African as he turned in one-over. He picked up birdies on four and five, but dropped a final shot on his closing hole, the ninth.
He was comfortably the leading South African, however. Thomas Aiken had a five-under 67 in the second round to move to five-under for the tournament and a share of 51st. Brandon Stone and Robin Williams were a shot back on four-under after rounds of four-under and three-under respectively. In a share of 62nd, they made the cut on the number.
