Shaun Norris was in a share of second after the first round with a five-under-par 67 on Thursday in the Japan Golf Tour’s ANA Open at Sapporo Golf Club on the Wattsu Course in Hokkaido, Japan.
Norris started with a birdie on the first hole, and made four more in his bogey-free round. He was two strokes off the lead which was held by Japan’s Ryuko Tokimatsu, who had eight birdies and a bogey in his 65. Norris shared second with four other players.
The other South African in the field, Jbe’ Kruger, opened with a level-par 72 for a share of 56th.
