Shaun Norris closed with a six-under-par 66 on Sunday to climb into second place on his own in the Japan Golf Tour’s Mynavi ABC Championship.
Norris made two birdies and a bogey on the front nine, and he clicked into overdrive on the homeward nine with no dropped shots and five birdies as he moved to 21-under-par for the tournament. It was just reward for his scintillating second round of 11-under-par 61 which catapulted him into contention, but it was not enough to chase down Keita Nakajima of Japan, who won on 24-under after rounds of 63-69-66-66. Japan’s Mikumu Horikawa and Taiga Semikawa shared third on 20-under-par.
Norris lifted himself inside the top 20 on the Japan Golf Tour money list, climbing to 18th.
