Norris in the hunt in ISPS Handa Championship in Japan

Shaun Norris stormed up the leaderboard on Saturday with a bogey-free seven-under-par 64 in the third round of the Japan Golf Tour’s ISPS Handa Championship in Japan, moving into a share of 24th at 12-under-par.

He started his round on the 10th, and picked up shots on 12, 14 and 16. He made gains after the turn on two and five, before closing out his round with consecutive birdies on eight and nine. He was six shots off the lead which was shared by Justin de los Santos of the Philippines and Yuto Katsuragawa of Japan at 18-under after they carded rounds of seven-under-par and six-under-par respectively.

The other South African in the field was Jbe Kruger, who carded a two-under-par 69 in the third round to move to eight-under for the tournament and a share of 52nd.
