Shaun Norris opened the Japan Golf Tour’s Hana Bank Invitational at Heaven Country Club in Ansan, South Korea with a bogey-free six-under-par 66 on Thursday to take up a share of seventh place.

He made three bogeys on each of the nines, and finished the first 18 holes three strokes off the lead. Up front, Koreans Hyung-Joon Lee and Tae-Hoon Ok shared the lead on none-under-par. They were one clear of Jin-Ho Choi on eight-under, and there were two Japanese players in a share of fourth on seven-under.

Norris shared seventh with seven other players, as he plays in the sixth tournament in the 2025 season on a tour he has made home, and on which he has made a good living with seven victories since his first back in 2016. He is currently ranked 38th on the Order of Merit, and a best result of a share of ninth in the Japan PGA Championship.
