Dylan O’Leary carded a second-round two-under-par 70 on Thursday to take a one-stroke victory in the Bushveld Tour’s two-day event at Wingate Park Golf Club.

O’Leary opened with a five-under-par 67 to share the first-round lead with amateur Sam McKenzie, and, in the end, he had to fend off the challenge posed by Christiaan Burke, Kevin Rhoderick of the United States and Regan Steyn, who carded 68, 67 and 69 respectively in the final round to finish in a share of second on six-under.

O’Leary reached halfway in the second round in level-par after two birdies and two bogeys. He made one more of each on the 10th and 11th, before birdies on 16 and 18 pulled him one clear.

It was Burke who posed the biggest threat as he finished fast with five birdies in a bogey-free back nine.

Coert Groenewald was in fifth place on five-under after he closed with a two-under 70.
