Ian Snyman made four birdies and one bogey on Thursday as he opened the Asian Tour’s Link Hong Kong Open at the Hong Kong Golf Club with a three-under-par 67 and a share of 20th place.
Nitithorn Thippong of Thailand took the first-round lead with a eight-under-par 62. He led by one from three players, and there were two on six-under-par. Things got crowded lower down on the leaderboard, with six players, including Zimbabwe’s Scott Vincent, on five-under, and there were seven players on four-under ahead of Snyman.
Jbe’ Kruger opened with a two-under-par 68, and was in a share of 39th with the other Vincent brother, Kieran.
Jaco Ahlers had a double-bogey and an eagle on his card together with three birdies and two bogeys. His one-under had him in a share of 60th with, amongst others, Justin Rose.
