Garrick Higgo opened the Butterfield Bermuda Championship on the PGA Tour on Thursday with a two-under-par 69 at the Port Royal Golf Course in Southampton, Bermuda, for a share of 30th.

Play was suspended for darkness with a few players still to complete their first rounds, but Higgo’s six birdies and four bogeys left him just four strokes off the lead on a crowded leaderboard. The lead was shared by Justin Lower and Hayden Springer of the United States at six-under.

There were three players on five-under, nine on four-under and 15 on three-under.

MJ Daffue opened with a two-over-par 73 to be in a share of 80th, and Christo Lamprecht was on two-over through 17 holes.
