Lee-Anne Pace added a one-under-par 72 to her total on Friday after two rounds of the ISPS Handa World Invitational to move to five-under for the tournament and a share of 14th at the halfway mark.
She played her round on the par 73 Galgorm Castle course, after opening her campaign on the Massereene Golf Club course, which is a par 72. With everyone in the field having played on both courses, she finds herself six strokes behind the leader, Amanda Doherty of the United States. Doherty leads by one from countrywoman Lauren Coughlin and Denmark’s Emily Kristine Pedersen who were on 10-under.
Pace opened with bogeys on one and two, but she reached the turn in level-par thanks to birdies on three, seven and nine, and another bogey on eight. She rounded out an eventful journey around the turn with birdies on 10 and 12, and a bogey on 11, and then made par all the way home.
She turned out to be the only South African in the field to make the cut, as Casandra Alexander had one too many after a two-over 74 in her second round at Massereene. The cut fell at one-over. Nicole Garcia had a one-over 73 at Massereene to finish at three-over, and Paula Reto also had a 73 at Massereene to finish six-over.
