Lee-Anne Pace closed with a three-under-par 70 on Sunday to finish in a share of fourth in the Ladies European Tour’s Amundi German Masters at Green Eagle Golf Courses in Niedersachsen, Germany.
Pace bounced back nicely after her third round of three-over 76 had left her languishing lower down on the leaderboard, and an eagle on the fourth hole in the final round set her on her way. She also made three birdies and two bogeys as she reach four-under-par for the tournament.
She was five shots behind the winner, Shannon Tan of Singapore, who won by one from Helen Briem of Germany. Tan had a closing 76 to hang on for the victory at nine-under, holding off the home-town player who had a level-par 73. Amelia Garvey of New Zealand closed with a one-under 72 to finish third on seven-under.
Tan sank her par putt on the last to secure a one-shot victory and her second Ladies European Tour title. “It means a lot to win, especially after being in contention the past few weeks and not being able to close out in the last round,” said Tan. “It definitely hurt before, but to get the victory this week means a lot to me.”
