Lee-Anne Pace finished off a suspension-ridden first round of the Ladies European Tour’s La Sella Open, La Sella Golf Resort & Spa in Dénia, Spain on Friday with a three-under-par 69.
It was a bogey-free effort from Pace, and it put her in a share of ninth in a tournament that has been shortened to 54 holes to accommodate the storm delays and help with player wellbeing. In the lead with a course-record eight-under-par 64 was Sweden’s Sara Kjellker who was in front by three from Christine Wolf of Austria. There were six players on four-under in a share of third, and Pace shared ninth with nine other players.
Nicole Garcia carded a one-under-par 71 for her opening round to be in a share of 29th, and Stacy Bregman had a level-par 72 for a share of 45th. Casandra Alexander had a four-over-par 76.
