Slade Pickering made a birdie on the second extra hole on Wednesday to win a four-man play-off for the title in the Bushveld Tour’s Race to Q-School #6 at Glendower Golf Club.

His victory was set up by his first two rounds of four-under-par 68 and six-under-par 66, but he needed a birdie on the final hole of regulation play to get himself into the play-off after he had bogeyed the 17th.

In regulation, Pickering’s scored mirrored exactly those of Louis Liebenberg, with whom he led going into the final round. England’s Thomas Spreadborough and Phillip Geerts from Italy carded final rounds of 67 and 69 respectively to get into the play-off.

Pickering’s win in his second event of the 10-tournament series took him to ninth on the series Order of Merit. At the end of the series, the top 10 players get exemption into the final stage of the 2025-26 Sunshine Tour Qualifying School and have their entry fees paid. If any top finishers are already exempt, the incentive will go to the next non-exempt player in line within the top 20 on the Order of Merit.

Spreadborough leads that Order of Merit currently, having played five events, with Liebenberg second after playing six.
