Aldrich Potgieter slipped to a two-over-par 73 on Sunday in the final round of the Korn Ferry Tour’s Albertsons Boise Open presented by Chevron at Hillcrest Country Club in Boise, Idaho, but still finished in the top 10.

After his superb third round of eight-under 63, Potgieter started the fourth round fast with a birdie on one and an eagle on three. But he followed that with six bogeys until he was able to make another birdie on the 15th. He picked up another shot on the 16th but he made a seventh bogey on the closing hole.

He finished in a share of 10th on 16-under-par. That was five strokes behind the winner, Matt McCarty, who earned his promotion to the PGA Tour with his third win of the season.

Potgieter kept his hopes of getting onto the PGA Tour alive with his share of 10th as he climbed four places on the Korn Ferry Tour rankings to 23rd. The top 30 players at the end of the season will earn their promotion.
