Aldrich Potgieter opened his campaign on Thursday in the first round of the Korn Ferry Tour’s Visit Knoxville Open at Holston Hills Country Club in Knoxville, Tennessee with a three-under-par 67 for a share of 21st.
He made six birdies, a bogey and a double-bogey, and he finished the first round four strokes out of the lead. That was held by Sweden’s Pontus Nyholm, who had completed his opening round at seven-under when play was suspended with some players through just eight holes.
Nyholm had a one-stroke lead over four players on six-under, and was two strokes clear of eight on five-under. Five of those players had yet to complete their rounds.
Dawie van der Walt and MJ Daffue had completed their rounds, with Daffue on level-par 70 and Van der Walt on one-over 71.
