Aldrich Potgieter produce the joint-best round of the day on Friday when his seven-under-par 65 vaulted him 82 places up the leaderboard into a share of 19th after the second round of the Korn Ferry Tour’s AdventHealth Championship.

Potgieter, who produced a 59 on the tour in February, made eight birdies and a bogey to go to seven-under through 36 holes. That put him six strokes off the lead, which was held by American Alistair Docherty. Docherty’s second-round 66 put him one clear of Ryan Gerard, with three players in a share of third on 11-under.

Potgieter produced a startling six-under 30 on the front nine without dropping a shot. He found things a little less easy on the homeward nine, making birdie on 12, but dropping a shot on the 17th. He made up for that blemish by making birdie on 18 with a 338-yard drive helping him on the 549-yard par-five.

Dawie van der Walt and MJ Daffue both missed the cut.
