Paula Reto made three birdies and two bogeys on Thursday in the first round of the LPGA Tour’s Blue Bay LPGA at Jian Lake Blue Bay Golf Course on Hainan Island, China on her way to a one-under-par 71.
That put her in a share of 24th, just three strokes off the lead. Up front, three players shared the lead at four-under-par. Japan’s Ayake Furue, A Lim Kin of Korea and American Auston Kim all had a one-stroke lead over eight players on three-under-par in a share of fourth.
On two-under in a share of 12th, there were 12 players, and Reto shared 24th with eight other players.
Reto started her round on the 10th, she bogeyed the 11th and 13th, before making her first birdie on the 14th. She didn’t drop another shot in the first round, picking up two birdies on her back nine – the front – on the third and the eighth.
