Paula Reto carded a three-under-par 69 on Friday in the second round of the LPGA Tour’s Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions to move into a share of 16th at the halfway stage.

Reto opened with a two-over-par 74 in the first round, and made four birdies and a bogey. She, like all the others in the 29-player field, have been left floundering in the wake of leader Brooke Henderson of Canada. Henderson added a second-round six-under 66 to her opening 67 to move to 11-under and a four-stroke lead over Nelly Korda of the United States.

Ashleigh Buhai, who started with a three-under 69, battled her way to a three-over 75 in the second round with two birdies and five bogeys seeing her drop into a share of 20th on level-par.

Henderson ran off four birdies beginning at the second hole, was nine-under par by the time she stepped onto the sixth tee and played bogey-free for the rest of the round to make a strong statement at the beginning of the season.
